Robert Forster, founding member of The Go-Betweens, was invited to perform a selection of his favorite songs at German WEEK-END Fest (weekendfest.de) back in 2013. The arrangements for this set were written by the talented Jherek Bischoff (who worked and collaborated with artists such as David Byrne, Caetano Veloso, Amanda Palmer …). The set of ten songs was recorded prior to their performance and set for a later release. It eventually got shelved when Forster wanted to concentrate on his next album ”Songs To Play“. Now for the first time ever available: A stripped down walz-style-version of The Go-Betweens 2nd single, 1979s “People Say“ – according to Forster: “I love the version. It is of of the best recordings I think I have ever done.” Accompanied by the American artist Mike Donovan (Sic Alps/Peacers) on 2nd vocals. No less exciting is “In Her Diary”, a song originally released on The Go-Betweens second last album, 2003‘s “Bright Orange, Bright Yellow”.
